Special Education Teacher in Norfolk, VA Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time | Contract 1 day ago Qualifications School experience Working with students Classroom experience Working with students with special education needs Classroom Teaching Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a thriving educational setting near Norfolk, VA. This role offers stability with a full-time, school-year schedule from August 24th to June 4th, and there is a strong possibility for annual renewal. You will have the opportunity to work in just one assigned school, making a meaningful connection with your students and colleagues. Multiple positions are available, including three openings for Early Childhood Special Education and three for K-12 Special Education. If you have a specific age group preference, your input will be considered for placement.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure in
Special Education:
General Curriculum (PreK-12), Adapted Curriculum (PreK-12), or Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-Age 5) Demonstrated experience working with students in special education settings Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with school teams and families Dedicated to fostering an inclusive, engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Work closely with administrators, colleagues, and families to support student success Utilize instructional strategies and interventions to meet diverse learning needs Continuously monitor and report on student progress Participate in professional development and school-based meetings This position offers the benefit of a clear, manageable caseload in a supportive environment, with plenty of opportunity for collaboration among other experienced special education professionals.
