Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate educator to join our team at Orange County Public Schools as a Teacher in Early Childhood Special Education. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is passionate about fostering a positive learning environment for young children with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate with families, support staff, and other educators to create inclusive educational experiences that promote the social, emotional, and academic development of each child. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each child in the classroom. Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and engagement. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Assess and monitor student progress through observation, assessments, and data collection, adjusting instructional methods as necessary. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's education and development. Provide guidance and support to classroom aides and volunteers to enhance the learning experience. Foster positive relationships with students, promoting social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and special education. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and communication with families. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, confidentiality, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Education and/or Special Education or willing to obtain. Experience working with young children with disabilities or special needs preferred. Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
