Special Education Teacher 26/27 School Year Soliant - 3.9 Richmond, VA Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications Classroom Teaching Special Education Certification Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available, focused on providing intensive support within a high school setting. This position involves managing a self-contained classroom with an 11-student caseload, offering specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs. Paraeducator support is provided to enhance classroom learning and individual assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning challenges in a self-contained classroom. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state and federal guidelines. Collaborate with paraeducators to optimize student support and classroom management. Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies to meet evolving educational needs. Maintain clear communication with families, staff, and administration regarding student development and program updates. Uphold a safe and inclusive learning environment fostering academic and social growth.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with high school students in a self-contained classroom setting. Strong skills in managing intensive support for students with special needs. Ability to work collaboratively with paraeducators and other educational team members. Commitment to in-person instruction and student engagement. Effective communication and organizational skills.
