Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a dedicated school environment. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise as a TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired), making a meaningful difference in students' lives. With the new school year approaching, the school is currently conducting interviews for qualified candidates who prefer an onsite position and are ready to inspire, adapt, and lead.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification or credential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with children or youth with visual impairments in a school setting Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with students, teachers, and families Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Organizational skills and adaptability for dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities:
Direct instruction to students with visual impairments, fostering independence and academic growth Assessment and adaptation of curriculum to meet students' unique needs Collaboration with general education teachers and special education teams Providing consultation and training to staff regarding best practices and assistive technology Advocacy for students' needs within the school community Regular progress monitoring and communication with families
