Open Until Filled Woodbridge School District is accepting applications for an Academic Intervention Teacher at WMS. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible teaching position.JOB SUMMARY
: The Academic Intervention Teacher at our middle school will play a crucial role in supporting students who are struggling academically, particularly in core subjects such as English Language Arts and Math. The AIT will work closely with at-risk students and teachers, providing targeted intervention and support to improve students academic skills and overall performance. This position requires collaboration with classroom teachers to design and implement effective instructional strategies, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions as needed. The AIT will utilize data-driven approaches to assess student needs, track progress, and contribute to a positive school climate. Additionally, the AIT will be involved in the development and implementation of intervention programs, participate in and facilitate professional learning communities, and coordinate parent engagement activities to ensure families are informed and involved in their children's academic progress. The successful candidate will also serve as a key member of the school's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) team, facilitating data team meetings, ensuring proper documentation of interventions, and working collaboratively with school administration and other specialists to ensure students receive the necessary support for success. This role requires a passion for helping students reach their full potential and a commitment to ongoing professional growth. This position will also work closely with the district instructional specialists and the Director of Curriculum-Instruction to ensure collaboration and vertical alignment of goals for achievement and instruction between all schools across the district.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
: Must hold or be eligible for a teaching license in the State of Delaware, preferably in secondary Mathematics Special Education certification preferred Minimum of four years of successful teaching in a K-12 classroom or similar experience preferred Knowledge of MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) preferred Extensive knowledge of Common Core Standards across content areas (specifically in ELA and/or Math) Experience working with students in small group settings to provide academic support and interventions preferred Capable of collaborating with others and to proactively problem-solve with professionalism Possess strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skillsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Work with at-risk students identified in the areas of English Language Arts and Math, providing targeted support to help improve academic performance Utilize data analysis to enhance instructional strategies, improve student achievement, and foster a positive school climate Collaborate with individual classroom teachers to assist in the design, delivery, and assessment of effective instruction tailored to meet student needs Assist in the development and implementation of intervention programs aimed at supporting students who require additional academic support Participate in and support with professional learning communities to support continuous growth and development of staff Develop and coordinate parent engagement activities that focus on keeping families informed about student learning progress and promoting school involvement Work closely with other building AITs (Academic Intervention Teachers) and district instructional specialists to ensure alignment and consistency in instructional practices and student achievement across grade levels Collaborate with administration and staff to design and implement school improvement plans Serve as a key facilitator of the school's MTSS process to support academic and behavioral interventions Coordinate data team meetings to identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and specialists to develop, monitor, and adjust intervention plans Ensure timely documentation of intervention strategies, progress monitoring, and student outcomes Collaborate with administration to provide support in PLCs Other duties as assigned Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background checks and clearances. This is a 10-month position based on a 188-day annual contract. Employees are expected to work 7.5 hours per day, consistent with the established school and district schedules. Responsibilities may include duties beyond instructional time, such as meetings, professional development, and school-related events. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, fulfill all assigned responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility to meet the evolving needs of students, staff, and the district.
