Job Description
WNESU is seeking a special education teacher to join our team at Grafton Elementary School for the 26-27 SY to provide case management duties and direct instruction to K -6th grade students with an IEP. Candidates should have a strong background in providing high quality intervention services and collaborating with general education teachers on inclusive practices and universal design for learning.
The ideal candidate will have experience implementing specialized instruction in reading and math, collecting and interpreting data, and using diagnostic tools to inform instruction. We are seeking a candidate with a trauma-informed approach to supporting students with disabilities to meet their fullest potential. This position has the potential for co-teaching, so experience with co-teaching or a desire to work collaboratively with general education teachers using a co-teaching model is essential.
Applicants must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Vermont AOE as a Special Education Teacher in Vermont. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other staff. This position follows the WNESU school calendar. Salary and benefits as per the Master Agreement between the WNESU Board and the WNESU Association.
