Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students in a life skills classroom as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This opportunity, located in a welcoming district near Windsor, VT, is available on either a part-time or full-time schedule, offering flexibility to match your needs. You'll guide a small group of five students, helping them develop essential skills and achieve their goals as you finish out the school year alongside a dedicated educational team.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with a special education endorsement Previous experience teaching or supporting students with special needs, particularly in a life skills or similar setting Strong communication and collaboration abilities Ability to individualize instruction based on student IEPs and needs Positive, patient, and student-centered approach
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction in life skills and academic areas for a classroom of five students Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet students' unique learning goals Implement and track IEP accommodations and modifications Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to support student progress Document student progress and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
