We are seeking a Student Support Specialist to assist students in their educational journeys. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate advocate, providing guidance and support tailored to students' diverse needs. Your energy and proactive approach will foster a safe, inclusive environment where every student feels valued, understood, and equipped to succeed. MAINTAINING A WELL-DEVELOPED SENSE OF HUMOR
Provide support to students facing emotional or behavioral challenges Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to develop individualized support plans that address students' unique needs. Co-teach with content area teachers and special educators; collaborate with school clinicians. Assist with child protective services procedures when necessary, ensuring student safety and well-being Support students with special education requirements by implementing tailored strategies and accommodations Assist in developing student support plans activities that promote academic and social-emotional development Maintain detailed records of student interactions, interventions, and progress in compliance with privacy standards
MAINTAINING A WELL-DEVELOPED SENSE OF HUMOR
Experience
DEMONSTRATING A WELL-DEVELOPED SENSE OF HUMOR
Prior experience working with children or in educational settings is highly preferred Demonstrated ability in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques (we do not restraint students at the Mill School. Background in education or clinical work or related fields is advantageous Familiarity with special education processes and accommodations is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively across diverse cultural backgrounds Experience in conflict management and teaching strategies aimed at supporting student success We are fun. Pay:
$52,000.00
