Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity requires dedication and a passion for supporting diverse learners in a self-contained classroom environment. Situated onsite near Auburn, WA, you'll be immersed in a dynamic educational setting where your expertise will have a meaningful impact every day.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Special Education (SPED) license and ESA certificate required; ensure credentials are current and verification is ready upon application. Prior professional experience in a school-based setting highly preferred. Demonstrated skill in supporting high school students with varied learning needs. Excellent communication, adaptability, and classroom management abilities. Ability to work onsite, full time (37.5 hours per week) for the entirety of the school year.
Role Highlights:
Serve as the primary educator for a high school self-contained special education classroom. Develop and adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet individual student needs. Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes. Actively participate in the IEP process, monitoring progress and documenting all required compliance. Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development as needed.
