Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a contract role as a Special Education Teacher supporting students near Federal Way, right next to Tacoma. In this dynamic environment, you'll play a vital part in empowering students to reach their full potential, delivering individualized instruction while collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) Previous experience teaching in a special education setting preferred In-depth understanding of IEP development and implementation Adaptability and resourcefulness working with diverse learning styles and needs Strong communication skills for engaging with students, families, and staff Ability to maintain a positive and structured classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans tailored to students' individualized education plans (IEPs) Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to instructional techniques as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure continuity of services Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages student growth and achievement Participate in IEP meetings and provide insight into student development
