Mixed Age Lead Teacher Job Description:
The Discovery Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. As the Lead Infant/Young Toddler Teacher, you will create a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest learners.. In this role, you ensure the classroom operates in strict accordance with Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) licensing requirements (WAC 110-300). Key Responsibilities 1. High-Quality Care & Instruction Provide responsive care including feeding, diapering, and soothing, following each child's individual schedule. Design and implement a daily routine that encourages sensory exploration, motor skill development, and language acquisition. Maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing "home-like" environment. 2. Licensing & Compliance (WA State) Ensure 100% compliance with DCYF licensing standards , including safe sleep practices (SIDS prevention) and proper sanitation. Maintain accurate records for each child, including daily logs (bottles, diapers, sleep). Strictly adhere to Washington state mandated reporter guidelines regarding child abuse and neglect. 3. Leadership & Communication Collaborate with other teachers within the classroom. Build strong, trusting relationships with parents through daily check-ins and formal parent-teacher conferences. Conduct developmental assessments and share milestones with families.Qualifications:
Experience in childcare setting, or relatable infant care experience Strong organizational skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Why Join Us?
