Job Description

Overview A lovely family in Seattle is seeking a daytime newborn care specialist to provide support for approximately 8-12 weeks for their baby due at the beginning of October. The schedule will be 5-7 days per week, 10-12 hours per day. This is a live-out position, so candidates must have their own local housing. There is a preschooler in the home. Candidates should be comfortable supporting a family-centered approach to newborn care and encouraging the development of a strong sibling relationship. The older sibling is sweet and eager to help with a new baby, and the family values a caregiver who will warmly welcome and foster these interactions. Responsibilities
  • All aspects of providing attentive and nurturing newborn care, including feeding and bathing
  • Diaper changes and maintaining hygiene
  • Baby laundry, bottle/pump part cleaning and sanitizing, and cleaning of toys and other baby items
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment
  • Engage the baby with age-appropriate activities
  • Provide outdoor time for the baby, such as walks
  • Provide recommendations for nursery items and daily routines
  • Carry out parents' preferences
  • Maintain a calm and supportive environment
  • Encourage healthy sleep habits following AAP safe sleep guidelines
  • Maintain a log of pertinent information, including noting feedings and diaper changes Qualifications
  • Collaborative and kind team player; willing to work with involved parents. There is an older child (age 3) who will not require any care but will be around afternoons
  • Professional and communicative
  • Knowledge of infant care best practices, safety protocols, and first aid
  • Trustworthy and dependable
  • Open to travel to their second home located approximately 1.5 hours outside of the city. This may include spending the night over the weekend (with notice). Extra hours will be compensated as such. Requirements
  • 5+ years as a newborn care specialist
  • Commuting distance to Seattle, as this is a live-out position candidate must have own housing locally and reliable transportation to and from employment
  • CPR and first aid certified, willing to renew before start date
  • Up-to-date vaccinations - Tdap, flu
  • Available to commit for a minimum of 12 weeks
  • Legal to work in the U.
