Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired on a part-time contract assignment for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite role near Seattle, WA, entails working closely with a small caseload of eight students, providing specialized instruction and services that promote accessibility and academic success.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification required Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI before the assignment begins Previous experience supporting visually impaired students in educational settings is preferred Strong organizational skills to manage varying service minutes (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for a caseload of approximately 15 hours per week Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with school staff and families
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and support in alignment with each student's IEP, ensuring that services meet state requirements Consult with classroom teachers and related service personnel to facilitate the integration of accommodations and adaptive technology Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation Engage in team meetings and contribute to collaborative problem-solving for student needs
Role Overview:
2026-2027 academic year: August 26, 2026 - June 16, 2027 Part-time contract: 15 hours per week, all services provided onsite Caseload consists of 8 students, with service delivery scheduled flexibly according to individual plans This is your opportunity to be an essential resource for visually impaired students, helping them learn, grow, and thrive in an inclusive school community.
