Many of our students are neurodiverse, including students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, OCD, processing differences, and other learning profiles. Our small size allows us to know students deeply, build strong relationships, and design learning experiences that meet students where they are. We are looking for a thoughtful, flexible, and skilled teacher who is excited to work in a small school setting and help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a great role for a teacher who enjoys multi-age teaching, hands-on learning, curriculum design, project-based learning, and supporting neurodiverse learners . The Role Academy Schools is seeking a 1st-3rd Multi-Age Classroom Teacher to teach a small group of students in a supportive, relationship-based environment. The ideal candidate is a strong classroom teacher who can create structure, build trust with students, adapt instruction, and design engaging lessons and projects.

This position requires someone who is comfortable teaching students with varied academic levels, executive functioning needs, and social-emotional profiles. The right person will be calm, consistent, creative, and skilled at helping students feel successful while maintaining clear expectations. What You'll Do As a Multi-Age Classroom Teacher, you will: Teach a small group of students in a multi-age classroom setting. Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment. Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across subject areas. Create hands-on, project-based learning experiences that help students connect learning to the real world. Differentiate instruction for students with varied academic, behavioral, sensory, and social-emotional needs. Support students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, processing differences, executive functioning challenges, and other learning needs. Use classroom management strategies that are calm, consistent, proactive, and relationship-based. Collaborate with school leadership and other staff to support student progress. Communicate professionally and compassionately with families. Use student data, observation, and work samples to adjust instruction. Support a school culture that is warm, inclusive, structured, and student-centered. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: A strong classroom teacher with excellent classroom management skills. Experienced working with neurodiverse students and/or students with learning differences. Creative and confident in designing curriculum, projects, and engaging lessons. Flexible and comfortable teaching in a small, evolving school environment. Calm under pressure and able to respond thoughtfully to student dysregulation. Skilled at building positive relationships with students who may have experienced school as stressful or unsuccessful. Organized, dependable, and professional. Excited by the opportunity to help shape a unique, student-centered school model. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Teaching experience in an elementary, middle school, special education, private school, homeschool, therapeutic school, or similar setting. Experience supporting neurodiverse learners and/or students with learning differences. Strong classroom management skills. Ability to design, adapt, and deliver curriculum for students at different levels. Ability to work in person in Tukwila, WA. Preferred Qualifications Teaching certificate, special education endorsement, or related credential. Experience with project-based learning, experiential learning, or hands-on curriculum design. Experience in small school, independent school, alternative school, or therapeutic school settings. Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, executive functioning challenges, or processing disorders. Experience with multi-age or differentiated instruction. Training in trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, UDL, executive functioning support, or behavior intervention strategies. Why Work at Academy Schools? Compensation Salary range:
$55,000-$70,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits information can be added here if applicable.
