Job Description

#075-CRT-03-26 ASB Leadership/Student Life Teacher Wenatchee High School 220 days per year/1.0 FTE, continuing Beginning the 2026 -2027
School Year Position Summary :
This position is a hybrid instructional and coordination role designed to bridge the gap between traditional school spirit and professional leadership development. You will serve as the primary architect of the campus culture, overseeing the Associated Student Body (ASB) while spearheading a Leadership Professional Learning Community (PLC). This PLC will align leadership standards and practices across various Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and other ASB-approved clubs, ensuring that student officers in programs like SkillsUSA, DECA, HOSA, Math club, and Honor Society share a unified vision of servant leadership and project management. We are looking for a "leader of leaders." You aren't just someone who can throw a great party; you are a systems-thinker who understands that leadership is a transferable skill. You see the ASB room as a lab for professional development and want to ensure that a student leading a board meeting in the Health Sciences department is receiving the same high-level coaching as the ASB President. In year one, your schedule will consist of ASB leadership courses, and the balance of courses will be determined by your certification, with an emphasis on CTE courses. As the goal is to build a thriving and integrated leadership program, the proportion of leadership courses in your schedule will increase over time. This position comes with a 40-day extended contract as well as additional stipends for both CTE-related duties and ASB advisor duties. The extended contract is intended to cover duties including, but not limited to: summer leadership camps and activities, hosting building-level and regional-level student workshops/seminars, event supervision after school/weekends, and building-level and regional leadership PLC development.
Key Responsibilities:
ASB & Student Government Oversight Instructional Lead:
Teach the daily Leadership/ASB course, mentoring elected officers in governance, parliamentary procedure, and ethical decision-making.
Event Architecture:
Oversee the planning and execution of all major school events (Homecoming, Prom, Rallies, Graduation), ensuring high levels of student agency and inclusivity.
Financial Stewardship:
Act as the primary advisor for the ASB budget; manage purchase orders, fundraising approvals, and state-mandated audits in compliance with state & district standards.
CTE Leadership PLC Coordination Cross-Curricular Alignment:
Establish and lead a monthly PLC for all CTE student organization advisors.
Standardization:
Develop a "Leadership Core" curriculum used across both ASB and CTE pathways, in conjunction with program-specific leadership materials, to ensure every student leader on campus—regardless of their niche—masters competencies in public speaking, conflict resolution, and budget management.
Integrated Calendar:
Coordinate a master activities calendar to minimize "siloing" between traditional ASB events and CTE-specific competitions or community service projects.
Communication:
Develop clear and transparent means of communication for all stakeholders around processes, timelines, and events/activities.
Campus Culture & Student Welfare Inclusivity Initiatives:
Develop programs that actively recruit underrepresented student populations into leadership roles.
Student Voice:
Serve as the liaison between the student body and school administration, ensuring student concerns are heard and addressed in school site council meetings.
Branding:
Manage the "school brand" through social media, campus signage, and community outreach to celebrate student achievements.
Qualifications & Requirements Credential:
Valid State Teaching Credential (CTE or Secondary Education preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of classroom teaching; prior experience as an ASB Advisor, Activities Director, or CTE Program Lead is highly preferred.
Skills:
Expertise in Project Management software and financial bookkeeping. Proven ability to facilitate adult learning (PLC leadership). Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to mentor high-achieving, high-stress student leaders.
Availability:
Must be able to attend evening and weekend events as the primary supervisor.
SCHEDULE
