  • We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Respite Provider to join our team!
This role is crucial in providing relief and support for families and individuals affected by autism and other developmental and behavioral disabilities. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of autism and be committed to assisting in creating a positive, supportive environment for those in their care. We pride ourselves in our individualized care approach, adaptability, and team collaboration supporting our clients and their families.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term care and supervision for individuals with autism, and other special needs, allowing primary caregivers a temporary break.
Engage clients in meaningful and appropriate activities that meet their needs, goals, and interests within the home and in community settings. Implement personalized care strategies and behavioral interventions as outlined by caregivers and specialists and adapting as necessary. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment at all times. Communicate effectively with family members, caregivers, and management regarding any observations or concerns. Document and report daily activities and any significant occurrences to ensure consistent care and support strategies. Collaborate with family members to adapt activities and care approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, especially with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Basic understanding of autism spectrum disorders and the unique challenges they may present. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with both individuals and family members. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet the needs of families.
