Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education professional in a supportive educational environment near Lodi, WI! This contract opportunity features two distinct openings for the upcoming school year: one focused on middle school resource/co-teaching (6th-7th grade) and another working with early childhood students (ages 3 through 1st grade). In the middle school setting, you'll directly support 11 students identified with learning disabilities and other health impairments, specializing in reading, math, and executive functioning skills. The early childhood role offers the chance to work with 12 young learners (8 attending full day), some with autism, vision challenges, and higher needs, in a nurturing environment. Additionally, you'll provide some homebound instruction for younger students who require extra assistance.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Wisconsin teaching license (multi cross-categorical or Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities certification preferred) Experience with resource, co-teaching, or early childhood special education Strong ability to implement differentiated instruction and IEPs Skillful in fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Flexible and patient approach to addressing individual student needsCore Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized educational plans Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers Use evidence-based instructional strategies in reading, math, and executive functioning Provide homebound services for select young students as required Monitor, assess, and document student progress Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment This school year contract begins August 21st and runs during regular school hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
