Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a contract opportunity making a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher for middle and high school students in a cross-categorical setting. This role focuses on teaching and supporting students with mild-to-moderate disabilities—such as learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities—in a unified classroom environment. You will be working throughout the school year from August 18, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Candidates must be ready to collaborate closely with staff and families, adapt curricula, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). A strong background in supporting students on the autism spectrum is key, and a positive, flexible approach is highly valued. Your commitment will help foster a supportive learning community where every student can thrive.
Qualifications:
Current Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801) Proven experience working with students with autism Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation Effective collaboration and communication skills Flexibility in supporting students across different grade and ability levels
Key Responsibilities:
