Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Pre-K Lead Teacher to inspire young learners in a vibrant early childhood education environment. As a key leader in the classroom, you will foster a nurturing space where children develop essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Your role is to create engaging lesson plans, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and support each child's unique growth trajectory. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the foundational years of children's education while working collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators and families. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and respect among children. Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions. Assess individual student progress through observations, standardized testing, and documentation; tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs including special education and early intervention strategies. Collaborate with families to communicate student progress, address concerns, and support home-based learning initiatives. Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, lesson plans, and assessments in compliance with licensing requirements. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, or other educational approaches to enhance teaching practices. Experience Prior classroom experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or private school setting is required. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across early childhood subjects such as literacy education, math, physical education, and classroom management. Experience working with children with diverse needs including special education or early intervention programs is highly desirable. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques to support positive behavior and social-emotional growth. Familiarity with teaching methodologies such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families. Previous experience in daycare or preschool environments that emphasizes child welfare and safety standards.
