Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Fairmont, WV, serving elementary students with moderate to severe needs. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 5, 2026, working with a caseload of two students requiring specialized educational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to facilitate effective learning environments. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting strategies as necessary. Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Qualifications:
Valid West Virginia Special Education Teacher certification is required. Experience working with elementary students with moderate to severe special needs. Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment tools. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
