Gifted and Talented TeacherPOSITION SUMMARY
The Gifted and Talented Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging, rigorous, and differentiated instruction to meet the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of gifted students. This educator will cultivate a challenging and supportive learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commitment to student learning and academic excellence; knowledge of effective instructional practices which emphasize active student engagement, participation, and thinking; knowledge of best practices in instruction and assessment; Strategies for engaging and meeting the needs of diverse learners; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to build cross-curricular teams and engaging educational experiences for students; ability to work and build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents; strong content and pedagogical knowledge base; a variety of positive classroom management strategies; ability to implement state standards and benchmarks in a multi-age classroom; enthusiastic; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of technology and its uses for promoting student learning; willingness to participate on school and district committees and in required in-service activities. other Duties as Assigned. Ability to use effective differentiation strategies; strong content and pedagogical knowledge; A strong understanding of the cognitive, academic, and social-emotional needs of gifted students—including those from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds; ability to use time effectively; good organizational skills; ability to maintain a positive relationship with other staff by collaborating and working cooperatively with them (including supervisors); knowledge of physiological, psychological, emotional, and educational behavioral development of children and/or adolescents; ability and desire to integrate innovative instructional practices.ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with an endorsement as a Gifted and Talented Teacher.Work Experience:
Experience as an elementary teacher is preferred.PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS

to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis.Environmental Requirements:
encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors and outdoors.
Mental Requirements:
read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile, and coordinate information and records.•Additional Work Conditions and Physical Abilities:
May require travel to multiple sites.EVALUATION
