Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This position seeks an experienced professional specialized in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a school setting located in Laramie, WY. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the educational development of students with hearing impairments, utilizing your expertise in specialized instruction and communication strategies tailored to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, adapting curriculum to meet their learning modalities. Collaborate with teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to develop and implement effective educational plans. Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. Support students' language, social, and academic development in alignment with district and state standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance, communication needs, and resource use.Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational environment. Strong understanding of educational methodologies specific to hearing impairments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
