This full-time (1.0 FTE) assignment runs from October 1, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Under the direction of the Principal, the successful candidate will provide a nurturing, standards-based educational program tailored to our youngest learners. You will work in close cooperation with students, parents, fellow teachers, and administrators to cultivate an orderly, productive, and joyful classroom environment conducive to early childhood development.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Instruction & Planning:
Plan, implement, and teach standards-based lessons utilizing the California State Content Standards and frameworks appropriate for Transitional Kindergarten.
Classroom Management:
Establish efficient classroom routines and maintain positive standards of pupil behavior that keep the learning environment productive and safe.
Assessment & Records:
Assess student needs, track progress, maintain accurate student records (including attendance counts) utilizing district databases, and implement Response to Intervention (RtI) strategies.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate actively with team members to meet pupil needs, establish common goals, and communicate effectively with parents via meetings and updates.
Professional Expectations:
Implement district policies, attend required school/district in-service and informational meetings, perform equitable non-classroom supervision as assigned, and strictly follow child abuse reporting processes.
