THE OPPORTUNITY
(POSITION
OVERVIEW
) Reporting to the School Director, the Substitute Educational Facilitator will be assigned to work in the absence of a full-time Educational Facilitator, and be responsible for general classroom management and supervision. The Substitute Educational Facilitator, will plan and implement activities for learners that balances physical, social and emotional growth, prepares materials for learners to explore and learn, and conducts activities in a safe, organized and healthy environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
) Follow the instructions left by the Educational Facilitator or alert the Administrator if there are no plans to follow. Check to ensure that there are sufficient supplies in the classroom to carry out lesson plans. Maintain normal classroom routines and discipline procedures. Teach all subjects and other appropriate learning activities according to curriculum requirements, the school and policies developed by the Governing Board. Effectively use a broad range of instructional strategies, including providing a constructivist curriculum, challenging goals and effective feedback, differentiated instruction and backward mapping, among others. Incorporate a focus in enriching the curriculum by implementing a plan of Project-based Learning. Execute planned learning experiences provided by Educational Facilitators in order to motivate learners and best utilize instruction time. Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each learner. Establish and maintain outstanding classroom management skills needed to achieve a functional and supportive learning atmosphere. Evaluate learners' academic and social growth and keep appropriate records, providing input on progress reports and ILP as requested by the Facilitator. Maintain professional competence through participation in professional learning activities provided by the school and self-selected professional growth activities. Perform basic attendance accounting and business records as required. Effectively use advanced technology as a learning tool; able to integrate technology into teaching. Provide standards-based instruction; align curriculum and standards and adopt grading practices that can be used in standards-based and performance-based grading. Assumes responsibility for overseeing learner behavior in the classroom.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer) Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
