Two Rivers Public Charter School serves a diverse group of learners across three locations. The Two Rivers staff shares a strong belief that all children can learn and be high achievers. We focus on the whole child, recognizing the importance of character education and the social-emotional needs of children while helping them achieve academic excellence. A Two Rivers Dedicated Aide is assigned to work with a specific student with a disability. Dedicated Aides accompany the student to all classes during the school day, implement the student's behavior plan, provide individualized support and assistance during academic periods, and support them during lunch. Recess, and other portions of the day as specified by their IEP. The Dedicated Aide position is necessary to support specific identified students and employment is contingent on the student or students being enrolled at Two Rivers and requiring services. Occasionally, a Dedicated Aide may divide their time between several students, if the IEPs require them to do so. Strong collaboration with the inclusion teacher and/or case manager is required. Dedicated Aides carry out their responsibilities under direct supervision of the student's case manager and the Campus Director of Special Education. This is a 10.5-month position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. What educators can expect working at

Demonstrated ability to develop differentiated lesson plans and use instructional tools to meet the needs of students with learning challenges Demonstrated ability to collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to ensure the academic and social growth of students Demonstrated ability to integrate arts curriculum across academic disciplines Dedication to teaching in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking Commitment to high academic achievement for all students, and meet the needs of every child in a diverse population Previous experience using data to inform instruction on an ongoing basis Clear understanding of curriculum, instruction, and child development Ability to establish an effective and efficient classroom culture that emphasizes and supports literacy and math across all content areas Ability to nurture students and work collaboratively with families Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team Possess a professional growth mindset that contributes to a community of educators About the role: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supporting the delivery of effective differentiated instruction, under the guidance of classroom and special education teachers, by: Engaging with, or closely supervising the assigned student at all times Modeling appropriate spoken and written language skills at every opportunity Coaching assigned student in the Two Rivers Scholarly Habits and social problem-solving Working with the student on academic tasks specified in the daily lesson plan Collecting observations and data on student learning and behavior Actively supervise students by: Engaging in classroom activities, such as crew, lunch, recess and specials. Modeling and encouraging the student and classmates to succeed in the Two Rivers Scholarly Habits (I Act with Integrity, I Am Independent & Resilient, I Can Connect & Collaborate, I Know Myself, I Show Compassion & Embrace Diversity) Implementing supports and consequences specified in the student's Behavior Intervention plan, as needed Responding to student behavior using Responsive Classroom techniques, when a different response is not specified in the behavior plan Reviewing classroom lesson plans, anticipating challenges, and participating in generating possible solutions Maintaining and completing documentation of student work and behavior Supporting children's safety and physical well-being during the school day by: Ensuring that an adult is with the assigned student during all hours specified on the IEP, by being on-time to pick up the assigned student from related services, and by moving with the assigned student based on their schedule and IEP Accompanying assigned student within the total school environment to ensure safe ratios and continue to provide services as appropriate Asking for help, when a child's behavior threatens their own or other's safety Contacting the school counselor during periods of crisis as a means of managing escalating behaviors This is a 10.5-month position, which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
