[120] Must be able to teach all levels of the Language Arts curriculum to include willingness to accept higher level course assignment(s). Knowledge and skills using technology. Knowledge of the Common Core related to Language Arts. Knowledge and application of literacy and writing strategies in the content areas. Must work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents to maintain a positive climate in the school. Must be willing to participate in building professional development initiatives concentrating on literacy. Must be skilled at teaching in a team atmosphere and be a participant on a building focus team. Willingness to work as a member of a collaborative teacher team. Willingness to deliver curriculum for students in advisory setting. Follow district and building policies. Co-teach with special education staff in a collaborative effort to benefit instruction to all students. Must have strong writing skills and be skilled in teaching all facets of writing. Other duties as assigned. Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reach his/her full potential. Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully. Skilled, understands and utilizes MTSS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable. Skilled, understands and utilizes PBIS or willingness to be trained/knowledgeable.Physical Requirements of Position:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to - Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties. Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture. Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather. Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff. Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.Work Environment:

Understanding of the need for confidentiality with respect to student and parental rights and for conversations and hard copy information. Experience with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) or willingness to be trained.
