JOB DUTIES
Provides a stimulating teaching-learning environment, making use of a variety of instructional tools and teaching aids. Effectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged. Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned. Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times Maintain a positive learning environment Maintains high expectations for student conduct and enforces expectations at all school functions. Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned Attends all meetings called by the Executive Director, Principal or Designee.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
Be present daily (Monday-Friday) to fulfill substitute assignments Open to working in a different classroom each day Follow through with scheduled assignments Take part in a 30-day trial period before permanent hire Be flexible when asked to complete duties beyond the original assignment Must model professional experience, attitude, and demeanor Must demonstrate an appreciation of diversity Maintain student and staff confidentiality
Requirements:
SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS EDUCATION
minimum of a Bachelors Degree
CERTIFICATION
Must hold a valid Teaching or Substitute license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret lesson plans, technical procedures, and textbooks. Ability to write general correspondence. Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals, administrators, parents, and students. Ability to always communicate using correct grammar. Must have the ability to follow both oral and written directions/instructions. Must have the ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written means.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to understand abstract and concrete variables. Ability to use available information and develop realistic long-term and short-term plans for curricular goals.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and parents through oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of corporation requirements. Ability to implement lessons based on corporation and school objectives and student needs and abilities.
