Substitute Teacher Gilda's Preschool Academy New Orleans, LA Job Details Temporary $14 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Safety regulations Child safety supervision Lesson planning Classroom Teaching Activity planning for children Full Job Description Gilda's Preschool Academy seeks to hire substitute teachers. The Child Development Center provides quality childcare to children ages 6 weeks to 3 years. Substitute teachers follow and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for an inclusive classroom of 8 children and create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment. Substitute Teachers conduct daily observations of children's learning, modify activities to ensure participation of all children including those with disabilities, and document child development. Substitute teachers collaborate with other center staff to develop instructional plans if role is needed on a long-term basis. Substitute teachers will communicate effectively with families, and classroom co-lead teachers. Substitute teachers follow established teacher/child ratios at all times, follow child abuse and neglect reporting procedures, comply with state child care licensing regulations, provide instruction and activities, maintain a classroom environment that ensures all aspects of the program are aligned with the program's curriculum, ensure all children are able to participate in the curriculum and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Able to bend and lift young children in and out of cribs, and high chairs, and carry them to safety if necessary.
Preferred but not required:
• 1 year experience working with young children • Experience using coaching-based interventions
