Dedham Public Schools relies on our substitutes to maintain classroom continuity and to ensure students continue to learn during their teacher's absence. QUALIFICATIONS

Must have attended at least two years of college MA DESE Licensure preferred Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings preferred Dedham Public Schools seeks candidates who share our commitment to the advancement of students from underrepresented groups or who have been historically marginalized.

Position Purpose:

To be available to substitute teach on an "as-needed" basis

Essential Responsibilities:

Follow instructional guide outlined in teachers' lesson plans Follow class expectations outlined in teachers' lesson plans Create and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom Maintain daily attendance and report paperwork to building secretary at the end of the day Keep a daily log about the progress of the day and leave it for the regular teacher Clean teaching area at the end of the day - put all equipment and materials away

Additional Duties :

Perform any other tasks that are assigned to the absent teacher on that day (bus duty, study hall, etc.) Applications for substitutes will be accepted throughout the school year.
