The Building Based Substitute Teacher will work to enable each student to pursue their education by providing instruction and appropriately managing the classroom environment in the absence of the assigned classroom teacher. Provides students with a positive learning environment to support their intellectual, social, and emotional growth and development Delivers instruction and implements lesson plans in line with District's goals to ensure success for all students Supervise students in school related settings Maintains the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned. Supports students in whole class, small group and individual settings using various teaching methods Adapts instruction delivery to best meet the needs of all students Communicates with students, staff, and families Follows and supports all District and school policies, rules, and procedures. Meets with the appropriate Administrator and becomes orientated to school policies and procedures such as attendance, discipline, schedules, emergency evacuation and incident response. Supervises students to ensure their safety and welfare. Reports any student related injury, accident, illness, discipline problem Administration immediately or as soon as is reasonably. Reports in writing on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day. Participates in all District provided Professional Development Maintains the confidentiality of the position including all student and school personnel information. Other related duties as assigned by the building administrator.Qualifications:
Minimum of 60 college credits required, Bachelor's degree from an accredited college preferred. Experience working with children. Strong knowledge of technology including but not limited to MS Office, Video Conferencing, Teams, Google, Shared platforms, and education specific software. Promotes an environment of cultural competency through the building of positive relationships with all stakeholders. Massachusetts Teaching Certificate preferred. Those pursuing a career in education preferred. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills. Maintains appropriate dress and a professional appearance. Candidates that are DESE license certified will receive an additional daily rate differential based on school assignment Candidates that are DESE license certified will receive an additional daily rate differential based on school assignmentTerms of Employment:
Rate:
(licensed under Department of Elementary & Secondary Education) $165/day = $23.47/hour. (unlicensed) $150/day = $21.43/hour Reports to: School Principal or DesigneeBenefits:
