Grade 6 Long-Term Substitute Teacher Ware Public Schools - 4.5 Ware, MA Job Details Full-time $297.12 - $343.60 a day 3 days ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Elementary Education Teaching Certification Full Job Description MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure required Elementary (1-6) and SEI endorsement completedWare Middle School is looking for an exceptional long-term substitute teacher who is highly qualified and enthusiastic to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. Experience Teaching reading and language arts by using the district curriculum and other appropriate learning activities reflecting a deep understanding of state frameworks and use of the workshop model as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others is preferred.
Candidate should have experience with the following: Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. Provides structure in the classroom by promoting a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Prepares teaching materials and related reports including ongoing data analyses for the purpose of improving instruction, implementing lesson plans, and documenting student progress. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establishes and communicates clear objectives to the students for all lessons, units, and projects. Instructs and provides assistance for student learning, individually or in groups, designing lessons that both present and reinforce learning concepts. Conduct on-going assessments and screenings of children, and monitor to assure academic progress during year; maintain a variety of classroom records; Assure children meet academic benchmarks Attend faculty meetings; follow requests and assist with school planning Implement individual educational and 504 plans in the classroom Be attentive, flexible and supportive of children and their families through positive communication Works under the general supervision of the building principal and other building administrators, manages student behavior, assesses, and evaluates student achievement. Hold high expectations for yourself, students, and colleagues and see potential in all, especially our WPS students, and maintain high expectations for achievement, while providing the support necessary to meet that bar. You hold yourself to high expectations, modeling SPS values and seeking opportunities to continuously improve. Build authentic, caring relationships with colleagues, students, and families, and build strong relationships across students, families, and colleagues that are collaborative in nature and contribute to the individual and collective success of WPS.
