Job Description

Summary Mora High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Substitute High School Physical Education Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering engaging and effective physical education instruction to students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical fitness, health, and wellness while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is a temporary position that will last for the duration of the regular teacher's leave. Responsibilities Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards for physical education and promote student engagement. Teach a variety of physical education activities, including team sports and individual fitness. Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development. Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required. Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to student behavior and academic integrity. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in Physical Education or eligibility for certification. Experience working with high school students is preferred. Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum and best practices in teaching. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students to engage in physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
