(Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships) Provide ESL services at District ESL building site(s) Extensive knowledge of second language acquisition, research, and best teaching practices as applied to ELLs' linguistic and academic development Administer state required testing to ELLs (ELPA21, ISASP) Provide academic and English support to ELLs as needed Plan for and work with individuals or small groups of ELLs Collaborate with ELLs' classroom teachers, ELL teachers and Cultural Liaisons on a regular basis to meet the needs of ELLs Build relationships with culturally diverse students and their families to ensure that each student reaches his/her full potential Attend monthly ESL meetings and training opportunities at the district and state level Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential. Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully. Must be willing to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics.Endorsement Required:
