Requirements:
Must possess a NM Substitute License or current teaching License
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and adaptable substitute teacher to join our educational institution. As a substitute teacher, you will provide temporary instruction and maintain an engaging learning environment when the regular classroom teacher is unavailable. Your ability to quickly establish rapport with students, effectively communicate subject matter, and manage classroom dynamics is crucial for ensuring a smooth educational experience in the teacher's absence.
Responsibilities:
Delivering Instruction:
Effectively deliver lesson plans and educational materials as provided by the absent teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction and meeting educational objectives.
Classroom Management:
Establish and maintain a positive and structured learning environment by implementing appropriate behavior management strategies and enforcing school policies.
Student Engagement:
Foster active student participation through interactive teaching methods, facilitating discussions, and encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Supervision:
Oversee students during class time, transitions, and recess, ensuring their safety and well-being while maintaining a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
Administrative Duties:
Complete attendance records, incident reports, and any other required documentation promptly and accurately.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other staff members, including teachers and administrators, to maintain open lines of communication and provide feedback on student progress and behavior.
Adaptability:
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various grade levels, subject areas, and teaching styles based on the needs of each assignment.
Professionalism:
Uphold high ethical and professional standards, treating students, staff, and parents with respect and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Education:
Possess a minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
Teaching Experience:
Prior experience working with students in an educational setting is advantageous.
Classroom Management:
Ability to effectively manage student behavior and maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions, explanations, and expectations clearly and effectively.
Adaptability:
Flexibility to adapt to different grade levels, subject matters, and teaching styles as required by each assignment.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting positive relationships.
Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills to manage lesson plans, resources, and administrative tasks efficiently.

Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling job responsibilities.
