Job Description:
Wattsburg Area School District is looking for a Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts Teacher anticipated September 8, 2026, through January 4, 2027. The ideal candidate will be certified in English 7-12 or Mid-Level English 6-9 or Grades 4-8 with English Language Arts and Reading 7-8 concentration. Individuals with a bachelors degree in a related field are eligible and will be considered. This is a temporary full-time substitute position assigned to a regular daily teaching schedule and course load.
Shift:
Full time, regular school schedule
Salary Range:
Minimum of $52,263 based on degree(s), prorated.
Benefits:
Full employer paid medical while employed as a Long-Term Substitute.
Qualifications:
Valid English 7-12 (Code 3230), or Mid-Level English 6-9 (Code 2850) or Grades 4-8 with English Language Arts and Reading 7-8 concentration (Code 3100-09) certification preferred. Other English certifications or bachelors degree in an English related field will be considered. Key Responsibilities:
Teaches assigned students/classes the approved Engages students actively and meaningfully through lesson design, instruction, and Identifies and implements appropriate instructional practices and methods to meet students varying ability levels. Uses an appropriate variety and number of assessments to determine student academic Provides written feedback to students on assessed material on a regular Implements the IEP requirements of special needs Establishes communication with parents through a variety of means to inform them of academic and behavioral progress and achievement.
