JOB SUMMARY
Provide instruction in the Applied Engineering Technology (AET) Mechatronics Technology program. The program prepares students for careers in advanced manufacturing through the integration of mechanical systems, electronics, automation, robotics, and computer-controlled technologies. Instruction includes electronics, electro-mechanical systems, automation and controls, manufacturing processes, industrial communications, and 2D/3D CAD design using SolidWorks and Inventor. The curriculum is aligned to PDE CIP Code 47.0199 and prepares students for post-secondary education and careers as engineers, technicians, and advanced manufacturing professionals. Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in mechatronics and advanced manufacturing technologies Teach the safe operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and automated systems Instruct students in electricity and electronics, electro-mechanical systems, automation, industrial communications, CAD design, and related technical skills Guide students through program competencies and prepare them for industry certifications, including OSHA, CETa, SET, and related credentials Foster partnerships with business and industry to support work-based learning opportunities Monitor student progress and participate in school initiatives, professional development, and SkillsUSA activities Requirements Valid PDE teaching certificate in a related CTE field, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience, or four years of documented industry experience in mechatronics, automation, electronics, advanced manufacturing, or a related field Ability to meet PDE certification requirements for CIP Code 47.0199 , including successful completion of the Occupational Competency Assessment (OCA) and CTE certification requirements Demonstrated experience with electrical and electronic systems, automation technologies, mechanical systems, and CAD software, including SolidWorks and/or Inventor Proficiency in Google Workspace (Classroom, Forms, Docs, and Sheets) and student information systems Strong commitment to workplace safety, OSHA standards, and collaborative teamwork
TERMS:
Long-term substitute position for the full 2026-2027 school year
COMPENSATION
A regionally competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and education will be offered to the successful candidate.
