Position:
1.0 Elementary Teacher•Long Term Substitute (LTS)
Location:
Baker Elementary School
Assignment Start Date:
2026-2027 School Year (start August 2026)
Summary:
To facilitate students learning the designated subject matter and skills that will contribute to their growth and development; motivate and establish effective rapport and connection with students; establish good relationships with parents and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach district-approved curriculum. Plan a program of study and develop lesson plans and instructional material that is developmentally appropriate, as well as meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, maintain discipline and utilize appropriate classroom management techniques. Evaluate students' academic and social growth, seeking the assistance of district specialists as required. Communicate regularly with students, parents, school counselors and administrators regarding student issues. Cooperate and collaborate with other staff members. Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs. Follow district policy, guidelines, regulations and procedures, as well as, maintain confidentiality according to law and policy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Valid elementary teaching certification•PK-4 or K-6 Excellent teaching and classroom management Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents. Effective oral and written communication. Required Certification and Documentation to be Submitted by
