Job Description

Part-Time In-House Substitute Teacher & Academic Administrative Assistant Make an Impact Where It Matters Most Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is seeking a mission-driven, adaptable educator or youth development professional to join our team in a unique hybrid role supporting both classroom instruction and academic operations. If you are passionate about educational equity, urban education, and empowering young people , this is an opportunity to make a meaningful, day-to-day impact in a diverse, college-preparatory high school. This is a part-time (20-28 hours/week), benefits-eligible position that works from August 2026 through June 2027. What You'll Do Be a consistent presence for students by providing on-demand classroom coverage and maintaining a strong, supportive learning environment Collaborate with school leaders (Deans, Assistant Principal, Principal) to keep academic systems, events, and communications running smoothly Build relationships across the school community -students, staff, families, and volunteers Who You Are Passionate about working with high school students in an urban setting Flexible, proactive, and energized by a fast-paced school environment Skilled at building relationships and maintaining structure with young people Organized and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills Committed to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices Open to a 3-5 year Ignatian Identity program where employees learn about and engage with the school's Jesuit mission and identity Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Bilingual in Spanish & English (required) Experience in education, youth programming, or community-based work strongly preferred Classroom teaching experience or licensure is a plus Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Candidates from Hispanic/Latino/Latina, Black, and Somali/East African communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
