Long-Term Substitute Teacher

We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly. American Leadership Academy-Blythewood is now accepting applications for a Long-Term (Utility) Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check. A Utility Substitute helps maintain continuity in the classroom during a teacher's extended absence. A Utility Substitute ensures that students continue to progress academically and socially while fostering a positive learning environment, building rapport with students and encouraging their participation and growth. By adapting to the unique dynamics of the classroom, the Substitute Teacher contributes to a supportive educational experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implement lesson plans provided by the teacher. Ensure that all school and district policies and procedures are adhered to. Help maintain a positive and orderly environment. Work with other teachers and staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity in the educational experience for students. Observe and report on student progress, behavior, and engagement. Encourage student participation. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Pass applicable background check
