Reach Associates (RAs) are advanced paraprofessionals who support Multi-Classroom Leaders (MCLs) on Opportunity Culture campuses. MCLs give heavy guidance on lessons to assist the Reach Associate in their daily responsibilities. They will work closely with the teacher to complete various tasks, including classroom support with students and non instructional paperwork. They manage procedures and supervise student behavior during transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other unstructured activities while the teacher(s) deliver instruction. In some schools, aid instruction by supervising time on projects, skills practice, and digital learning labs and/or working with students in small groups or individually. The multi-classroom leader or team teachers direct all activities. QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum of 48 earned college credits Previous experience working with children Three years of experience in a K-12 school setting Preferred:
Educational Aide Certificate Seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Education Bilingual SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

Classroom and School Environment Hold students accountable for high expectations of behavior and engagement that are ambitious and measurable Contribute to a culture of respect, enthusiasm, and rapport Manage student behavior during transitions and less structured time (e.g., recess, lunch) Monitor independent work time in the classroom while the teacher provides instruction Instruction (if applicable) Tutor small groups and individuals Supervise projects, skill practice, and digital learning Professional Responsibilities Solicit and receive feedback from supervisor and team members to improve professional skills Maintain administrative duties on behalf of the teacher (such as taking attendance, entering grades, scheduling parent conferences, preparing student activities and assignments, checking homework, and additional paperwork) Collaborate with teacher(s), tutor(s), and digital lab monitor(s), when applicable Participate in professional development opportunities Communicate with parents under the guidance of the Multi-Classroom Leader WORKING CONDITIONS
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require both traveling within the district and statewide. Mental demands:
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory; ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
