Help provide supervision, lead small groups, guide adventures on campus and on field trips and serve as a positive role model for ALL Summer Success attendees!QUALIFICATIONS
Current HHS student with interest in a future career in education. Proficiency in spoken and written communication to express and/or exchange ideas. Ability to establish and follow detailed work procedures with speed and accuracy. Emotionally mature, objective, and sensitive to the needs of others. Able to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, families and co-workers. Experience working directly with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists the teacher in providing for the individual instructional needs, abilities, and interests of the students. Conducts learning exercises (provides instruction to) small groups of children. Informs the teacher of any special information or problems about an individual student. Assists with activities such as record keeping, filing, organizing materials and preparing instructional/classroom materials. Maintains an inviting and functional classroom or learning environment while caring for material and equipment. Provides clerical assistance as a particular situation requires (as skills permit). Assists with the supervision of children. Serves as the chief source of information and helps any substitute teacher assigned in their area. Provides lunch supervision and/or bus duties as assigned. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assumes responsibility for and participates in staff development (professional growth) and training to keep materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date. Follows appropriate safety procedures and properly maintains equipment. Responds to telephone, email and in-person requests, inquiries and questions in a professional, polite and responsive manner. Demonstrates good attendance and punctuality. Attends all required meetings. Maintains confidentiality in all matters. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities. Respects the worth, dignity and individual differences of others. Complies with and supports school division policies, regulations and procedures. Models professional, moral, and ethical standards as well as personal integrity in all interactions, including non-discriminatory and cultural inclusion practices by respecting the worth, dignity and individual beliefs of others. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal and/or lead teacher.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Light work, lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. Regular travel throughout the school and effectively interact with students, staff, and community members. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; and subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Regular contact with staff members and students is required. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.EVALUATION
