The Permanent Building Substitute will provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of instruction and student supervision. Responsible for instructing or supporting students in an elementary or middle school setting, serving in an early childhood (jk-5) or middle school (6-8) classroom. Assumes responsibility for all aspects of classroom instruction, assessments, and behavior management on a short-term or long-term basis. Implements teacher-created lesson plans or works collaboratively with a team of educators to generate lesson plans, providing differentiated strategies to instruct students at all levels in all content areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The permanent substitute will be expected to report to school each day (7:30-3:30) Follow the lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment \ Take attendance and maintain records as required Assist in classrooms, media center, cafeteria, hallways, or office as needed Supervise students during passing time, lunch, or other unstructured times as assigned Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions Other duties may be assigned

Strong communication skills Ability to form positive relationships with students Positive attitude focused on student growth and development Must be able to pass a background check with no criminal history
