Job Description

SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATED TEACHER 26/27 MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
You must have a valid Washington State teaching certificate OR be approved by Human Resources to apply for an emergency certificate.
Rate of Pay:
$150/day
Duties:
Maintain classroom management Ability to build immediate rapport with students of all ages Follow school district discipline policies for students Implement lesson plans as outlined by the regular teacher and leave adequate notes Comply with school district and building policies, procedures and practices Maintain confidentiality of student and school personnel information Adequately supervise students to maintain a safe learning environment Report all student accidents, injuries and discipline issues to appropriate authority timely Follow guidelines in the substitute reference guide
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate Cleared fingerprints from Washington State Patrol and the FBI on file with OSPI. To make a fingerprint appointment call the ESD at 665-2610. There is a $103.46 charge (tax included) Completed yearly online WSD safeschools training (upon getting on the sub list) Send SMDR forms to any school district or daycare/learning center you have work/subbed for. Forms can be found on the District website. Once recieved complete substitute supplemental paperwork and return it to the District office.

Print or download the substitute reference guide from the WSD website. Familiarize yourself with the PBIS Discipline program. Substitute information can be found at: www.wenatcheeschools.org/hr/substitute-information.cfm Substitutes are employed at will. The District may inactivate a sub from the active sub list at any time, with or without cause or notice and can cancel or deny substitute assignments. A substitute can remove themselves from the active sub list with or without notice and can cancel or deny substitute assignments. No assignment, employee manual, reference guide, board policy, reasonable assurance, other document or oral communication shall be deemed to create an employment contract or to modify the at will relationship. No person other than the School Board has the authority to bind the District to an employment contract or an agreement to modify the at- will relationship. An active listing on the sub list does not guarantee an assignment. If a reasonable amount of assignments are not worked within a 12 month period a substitute may be inactivated with or without notice.

Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement:
The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.
Disclosure Statement and Record Check:
Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.
