A School-Based Permanent Substitute reports to the same school (site) every school day and will be placed by the school principal or designee in a classroom and/or role where there is an unfilled absence of a professional educator. The School-Based Permanent Substitute reports to the same school (site) every school day and works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher during his/her absence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teaches content and skills in subject area by following lesson plans as provided by the absent Professional Educator Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment. Understands student needs based on lesson plans and cooperates with other professional staff members in ensuring students are being cared for throughout the school day. Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day. Participates in faculty meetings and other student activities when asked within their typical work day. Models nondiscriminatory and inclusionary practices in all activities. Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned. Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated. Other Duties asAssigned:
Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Associate's degree and completion of district provided substitute training.COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, peers, administrators, parents, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.ANALYTICAL AND REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on building and district goals and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, administrators, and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.TEMPERAMENTS
