Job Description

Playful Learning Academy is coming to Eagle River, and we're building our teaching team. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our classrooms honor children as capable learners and teachers as thoughtful guides, collaborators, and co-learners. Join our vibrant team as a Childcare Educator and become a vital part of nurturing young minds! In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children across various age groups, from infants to preschoolers. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster early childhood development, encourage curiosity, and promote positive behavior. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while working in a dynamic and collaborative setting. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support childhood development, including play-based learning and educational exercises. Supervise children during daily routines such as meal times, naps, outdoor play, and classroom activities to ensure safety and engagement. Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social skills, emotional regulation, and positive interactions among children. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behavior, and daily activities to support individual growth plans. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's needs, milestones, and any concerns effectively. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by practicing proper hygiene, administering first aid when necessary, and maintaining a clean classroom environment. Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing inclusive teaching strategies and working closely with specialists when required. High school diploma or GED. Minimum age of 18 years old. Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is advantageous. 6 months - 1 year Proven experience working as a Childcare Teacher Assistant/Aide. Certification in first aid and CPR , will provide training if needed. Clear criminal background check In-depth understanding of childhood development. Minimum of 3 references Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is beneficial but not required.
