Job Description

This opportunity is at Birmingham City Schools Text BCS IA to 225-592-1700 if you are interested in being and Instructional Assistant for Birmingham City Schools. Instructional Aides, or Teacher Assistants, work under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide extra support to students with literacy needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth. They are also known as paraprofessionals, aides, one-to-one aides, etc. Responsibilities Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials Supervise students in the cafeteria, schoolyard, specials, hallways, on field trips, and/or during before and after school programs Qualifications Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing) Must be willing to work when kids are in school (5-days per week most weeks) Must be able to work full school days Check Birmingham City, AL Schools website for specific info on calendar and bell schedules: https://www.bhamcityschools.org/ High School Diploma or
