Job Description
Summer Program Assistant
- P.E./Recreation (Citronelle) 17740 Celeste Rd, Citronelle, AL 36522 $12 an hour
- Seasonal, Full-time $12 an hour
- Seasonal, Full-time Boys & Girls Club summer camps and programs offer affordable, safe and fun experiences for all kids, led by trained and caring adults.

Citronelle (Rosa Lott Middle School)Dates:
June 1- July 17, 2026 All staff will be required to attend paid training on June 1 & 2, 2026 from 9am-4pm at our Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club (712 Rice Street, Mobile). As available, staff may be asked to work some hours June 3-5 to prepare Clubs for opening day. Summer Program runs June 8
- July 17.
Program Hours:
Variable schedule, up to 40 hours/week Clubs are open Monday through Friday between 8:00am- 5:00pm Work schedule may vary slightly at the discretion of the Branch Director.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Temporary Seasonal Summer Program Assistant plans, implements and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship.Specifically Focused Program Area:
Athletics & Recreation- Club Programs may include: Triple Play-Fitness, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Volleyball, Track, Non-Traditional Sports
- Responsible for role-modeling and promoting healthy behaviors throughout Club.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Minimum of two years of experience in planning, directing, and conducting sports such as basketball, softball, and football. 3. Experience in planning, directing, and conducting sports. 4. Good communication skills; ability to work with and instruct youth. 5. Background working with youth, in particular young people from underserved neighborhoods (relevant experience or education in an informal learning environment, such as homeschooling, Sunday school, or competitive team situation). 6. Effective interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds and a talent for making people feel welcome 7. Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders. 8. Possess a valid state driver's license and access to dependable transportation.Environmental Conditions:
The employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Must be available for local field trips. Physical Requirements (in performance of essential functions): This position requires the activities of talking and hearing along with intermittent physical activities of stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, standing, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, grasping and repetitive motion.NOTE:
All candidates are required to undergo a criminal background check, child abuse review by AL Department of Human Resources and a pre-employment drug screen. Candidates will be required to complete Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training online, through the Department of Human Resources.
