Job Title:
Middle School Parapro The school paraprofessional assists teachers and other school personnel in providing educational and related services to students. They work under the supervision of certified teachers, helping to implement lesson plans, provide individualized attention, and support the overall educational environment.QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Exam OR 60 hours of college credit Previous experience working with children preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.REPORTS TO
Building Principal SuperintendentESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring and behavior management. Assist with classroom management and organization. Supervise students in various settings, such as classrooms, lunchrooms, and playgrounds. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays. Provide support to students with special needs, under the direction of special education staff. Maintain confidentiality of student information and records. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Participate in professional development activities and staff meetings as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration. Respond to administrative requests promptly. Comply with all federal and state laws and district policies. Comply with regulations as to hours of arrival and departure from school. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent walking throughout the school campus Moderate lifting or carrying (less than 30 pounds). Sitting for extended periods. Standing for extended periods. Manual dexterity for the use of office equipment and technology. Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Must be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Perform all duties safely and responsibly. Observe all safety precautions.
