ExemptPosition Summary:
The Instructional Aide specializing in dyslexia intervention provides targeted academic support to students with characteristics of dyslexia. This position works under the direction of certified staff to implement structured literacy interventions, reinforce foundational reading skills, and support student progress in a positive and supportive learning environment.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred:
Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in reading supportDuties and Responsibilities:
Provide small group and one-on-one instruction using research-based dyslexia intervention programs Support students in developing phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, and comprehension skills Implement teacher-directed lessons aligned with structured literacy practices (e.g., explicit, systematic, multisensory instruction) Assist with progress monitoring, data collection, and documentation of student performance Reinforce classroom instruction and accommodations as outlined in student plans (IEPs, 504s, or intervention plans) Collaborate with teachers, interventionists, and special education staff to support student learning goals Prepare instructional materials and organize intervention resources Maintain a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment Assist with classroom management and student engagement as needed Ensure confidentiality of student informationPosition Type:
