In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), assisting students with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help empower students to reach their full potential through tailored instruction and compassionate support. Duties Assist in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education strategies such as Montessori and preschool methodologies Support students with disabilities by implementing accommodations outlined in their IEPs, including working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, and deaf education needs Facilitate effective communication using American Sign Language (ASL) or other assistive techniques to promote understanding and participation among students with communication challenges Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children Provide hands-on childcare and toddler care support, including supervision during activities, meal times, and transitions Collaborate closely with teachers to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional learning Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior incidents, and instructional activities to support ongoing assessment and curriculum development Requirements Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings such as preschool or private schools preferred Demonstrated knowledge of special education practices, including familiarity with IEP processes and classroom management strategies Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental delays is highly desirable Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn ASL to enhance communication with deaf or hard-of-hearing students Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff Ability to implement curriculum development strategies tailored to diverse learning styles and needs Compassionate attitude towards children requiring additional support in literacy education, math instruction, or behavioral management Join us in creating an inspiring educational environment where every child is supported to thrive!
